Why we built trouvé

trouvé is built by two University of Idaho grads who never stopped preferring the outdoors to the office.

Mission

Tech is the compass. The destination is human.

Our mission is to build stronger communities by getting people outside, exploring their towns, and engaging with the local businesses that make those towns worth living in.

We believe technology should be the thing that gets you out the door, not the thing that keeps you on the couch. So we build trouvé to make the screen the shortest part of the experience: a glance at the map, and then you're outside, discovering places you'd otherwise walk past and meeting the people who run them. Tech is the compass. The destination is human.

When that happens at scale, everyone wins. Neighbors rediscover their own main streets. Local businesses meet customers face to face instead of bidding for their attention online. And every visit is real: a person standing in a shop, starting a relationship, becoming a regular. That's how communities get built, one door at a time.

Jordan

Cofounder & CEO

Jordan grew up in Idaho with a GPS in one hand and a trail map in the other, and he's spent his whole life convinced that the best things are found, not fed to you. He's an Air Force veteran, a Missoula local, and above all a dad of two young daughters. trouvé is, in a real sense, built for them: he wants his kids to grow up in a world where technology points you toward real places and real people instead of replacing them, where community isn't a comment section, and where an afternoon of discovery ends at a local shop counter instead of a checkout screen.

Carson

Cofounder & CTO

Carson builds the trouvé app end to end. He's an engineer who believes software should earn its screen time, and he writes every feature with the same test in mind: does this get someone into a real place, talking to a real person, faster? When he's not building, he's outside, which is exactly where he hopes trouvé sends you.
